... Holding Hope for My Mates.

In 2019, I was invited to share my story on a podcast with two champions, Ed and Dan from Trademutt, a social enterprise with the aim of starting conversations about mental health and wellbeing in blue-collar industries with their signature brightly coloured work shirts. Ed and Dan had just come back from the Gympie Muster, where they were moved by the bush poetry that took place at that event. So much so they wrote a bush poem and shared it, and in response I wrote my very first bush poem called Why?

The encouragement I received from sharing this poem helped fuel the fire of what is now a passion, writing bush poetry and exploring other poetic genres, mostly with the mission of creating awareness around the subject matter of suicide prevention and mental health and wellbeing.
